WHAT IS HARA?
Go ahead and put your finger two inches below your bellybutton….
Close your eyes, and take a deep, belly breath. Do you feel the space where your breath swirls around before heading back up and out through your nose ?
That is HARA. It is also your center of gravity, and, in Eastern thought, the place where chi is collected. Simply put, Hara is a place to BE.

The Hara Center is a community space of wellness and creativity.

The folks of Hara work collaboratively to create sacred space to BE. Classes and offerings are meant to support well-being, creativity, inner-wisdom, and connection to self and others.
The Hara Center promotes social change by encouraging healthy, sustainable living. We recycle, compost, and more. Hara supports families and community by offering reasonable rates and by welcoming all ages at regular events.

The Hara Center will one day create an urban example of sustainable green building using, for example, solar panels, rain barrels, and native plantings. We believe that our Selves are intimately connected to our Environments. We will offer childcare on-site for all sessions, classes, and workshops. It is the vision of Hara that every neighborhood has such a place to BE, where wellness, creativity, and community are accessible to ALL. We dream of a rural retreat center where a new vision of community can manifest. Extended workshops and personal retreats will take place in natural buildings, supported by the peace and beauty of the surrounding land and by food that we grow and serve.
